Company History

At your side for decades

1972
Founding of the engineering office Herbert Gawarecki in Castrop-Rauxel for the construction of manufacturing machines for hygiene articles.

1975
Acquisition of new business premises and relocation of the company headquarters to Haltern am See. The construction of production systems for coffee filters is started.

1980
Expansion of the engineering office to include its own mechanical engineering department. Production systems for hygiene articles, coffee filters and surgical drape systems are developed, designed and built.

1986
Relocation to the company building in Lohausstrasse, operating area 3500 m². Production systems for single-use products in the medical, hygiene and catering sectors are now being developed, designed and built.

1988
Due to the expansion of international business relationships, GFM Maschinenbau GmbH is founded. Delivery of the first system to the USA.

1992
Establishment of the first CAD workstations. 1999 Relocation of construction and administration to a new administration building. As part of the move, the capacity of the construction department will be expanded.

2002
Delivery of the first special cloth system.

2006
Delivery of the first production line for wet wipes.

2007
Installation of a state-of-the-art 3D CAD system.

2010
Relocation of the company headquarters to Oer-Erkenschwick.

2015
Change of ownership and name change to GFM Spezialmaschinenbau GmbH.

2017
Inauguration of the new office track

2018
Investment in a new 15m test facility.

2019
Modernization of our 3D CAD system, expansion of the FEM simulation and implementation PLM System.
